21 Days of Prayer, Fasting, Praise and Worship

When is the last time you devoted 21 days to simply and exclusively seeking and finding, the Lord?

Jesus referred to fasting as a fact of Christian life, not an option. When our Savior spoke of fasting, he referred to it as something we must do, not as something we should consider doing. (Mark 2:18-20)

Paul began his ministry after a period of fasting. (Acts 13:2-3)

Fasting requires discipline. It is also a major weapon when it comes to deliverance from bondage, personal breakthrough, intercession and all manner of healing.

When we fast, we gain control over our flesh, and once we do, we are able to shift easily and powerfully, into the realm of the spirit. That is why so many people experience heightened supernatural awareness and such powerful connection to the Lord, while fasting.

When we look at eating in its’ strictest, biological sense, it is an act that actually takes a lot of work, and a lot of energy. The food must be procured, prepared, eaten, and digested. This requires focus and personal energy. There is a reason women in labor are advised to refrain from eating once labor ensues. Doing so allows the woman to channel all her attention and strength toward the experience of labor and the task of birthing her child. Digestion would literally sap and limit her strength.

Fasting allows us to literally ‘rise above’ fleshly impulses, and gain control over the bodily function of ingestion, digestion and naturally, expulsion. For this reason, many people report a sense of true freedom, alignment with the Lord and a new level of purity, while fasting.

Fasting allows us to experience the manifestation of 2 Corinthians 9:3 ~ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Fasting can also be seen as literally sowing into our relationship with the Lord.

Fasting can get God’s attention powerfully, allowing you to call down healing and breakthrough, where before without fasting, there was none. (Daniel 9:3,19)

I advise you to keep it personal! Jesus instructed us to anoint ourselves while fasting (with oil), but then wash our face… Why? So that no one could tell we are fasting; so that there wasn’t any visible evidence. Why did Jesus say that? Because back then, just as today, there were those whose sole or primary goal was to receive recognition for their sacrifice/service. Jesus told us our fasting experience should be genuine, and authentic. To that end, it behooves us to keep it personal, and keep it private. Jesus assured us that God would see how we were fasting in private, and then reward us publicly. (Matthew 6:17-18)

NOTE: If you choose to adhere to the tradition of anointing yourself with oil, do so with olive oil in order to maintain scriptural accuracy. Anoint your forehead, and then pray that God anoints you with His own holy oil.

Question: How long should one fast?
Answer: You may fast for 1-3 days, for 7 days, or you may join me in fasting for 21 days. I encourage you to pray and seek the Lord as to the duration that is correct for you.

NOTE: For this 21-day fast, I will be drinking just pure liquids for the first 3 days, then consuming just fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts for the remaining 18 days.

You may also choose to consume the Healing Broth (find the recipe elsewhere on this blog) throughout your fast.

Question: Should we abstain from all food while fasting?
Answer: Fasting in the purest sense, means abstaining from food. Some people choose to fast from television, video games, or sweets/desserts, and while this is good, it is not the definition of Scriptural fasting. Fasting means to abstain from food. Only you and the Lord (and perhaps your doctor, if that is appropriate) can decide what fasting formula is correct for you. I do not encourage anyone to fast on only water for 21 days.

Question: Will I be hungry?
Answer: Expect to be hungry, at first. But as your body adjusts to the consumption of little or different food, expect some wonderful changes! I have had reports of people feeling very peaceful, very “in tune” with God, I have even had reports of angelic visions.

Question: What things should I do while fasting?
Answer: Live your life, normally! If you work to attend school, do so. But please add frequent prayer, worship and praise, to your repertoire. This will further align you with God and bring you closer to the Lord. These things also powerfully shift your atmosphere, effectively ushering in the presence of the Holy Ghost!

Question: Are there people who should not fast?
Answer: Yes, and they fall into these categories: pregnant, breast-feeding, children or teens (because they are still growing), seniors or elderly (for health reasons), when ill or recovering from an illness (due to your body being in a weakened state), when anorexic or under weight, if suffering from a chronic health issue, such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney, liver or lung issues.

IN CLOSING…

Luke 14:27 says: And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be my disciple.

Isaiah 58:6,8,9 says: Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? ……. Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry and He will say, Here I am.

Daniel 9:3, 19 says: Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. Oh Lord, hear! Oh Lord, forgive! Oh Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.

In short, fasting lets God know that (1) you’ve read the Bible and you understand the definition, meaning, and value of fasting. (2) You long to grow closer to Him, and you mean it. (3) You need a breakthrough, and you’re ready to do what it takes.

I pray everyone joining me on this 21-day fast, is blessed! I prophesy healing, breakthrough, restoration and elevation over you, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus! Hallelujah!

If you are joining me on this fast, you are welcome to let me know, by emailing me via the icon above. I would love to pray for you!

God bless you!

Daily Declarations

Declarations are powerful!  To decree a thing over our lives allows us to invite new blessings!  The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:21 that Life and death are in the power of the tongue.   In Genesis 1:27 we learn that we are made in God’s image; beginning in verse 3 of that same chapter, we read how God literally created the world by speaking it into existence.  Because we are made in God’s image, we are able to speak things into existence, too!

Declarations are powerful.  Below I have written 7 declarations that I’ll be using in this ministry to invite and create blessing in our lives.  I encourage you to decree the following things over yourself, constantly!  In this way, we will grow and prosper together, according to God’s goodness!

  1.  I am saved! (John 3:16, Mark 16:16)
  2. I am full of Resurrection Power! (Romans 8:11)
  3. I can do all things through Christ – I am able! (Philipians 4:13)
  4. I rebuke the assignment of the enemy over my family, my health, my money, and my destiny.  In the mighty name of Jesus! (James 4:7)
  5. The devil has NO POWER over me!  I am a child of the Most High God! (Galatians 3:26)
  6. I will live and not die!  I will rise and not decline! (Psalm 118:17)
  7. And because Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, I decree and expect victory, in Jesus’ name! (1 Corinthians 15:57)

I pray these declarations bless you!

In His Service,

JoLynne Whittaker

End of an era…

As I sit here in my office, enjoying the beautiful morning sun coming through my window, sipping my coffee and getting ready for morning coaching sessions, my mind is drawn to an unusual but relevant thing: what I’m wearing.  You see, I’m currently wearing a summer dress and pair of house shoes I like very much — both of which I bought a couple of years ago, at Target.

I’ve always loved shopping at Target.  For years, it was my go-to store for birthday party goodies, Christmas toys for the kids, cute clothing items and household things.  But I refuse to shop there anymore, as Target, along with so many other stores and institutions around the globe, have abandoned all reason and actually created unisex bathrooms.

Some people believe this is progressive thinking.  That in the doing, Target and other places like it, are honoring the chosen identity of transgender individuals.  Allow me to speak the truth, in an environment when too many are afraid to: Target, you’ve lost your mind.  Target, you’re insane.  Target, you’re disgusting.  Target, you’ve disappointed me.  Target, your stock value has just taken an incredibly large plungebecause many, many, indeed a very good many, share my view—but you’e choosing to ignore us.

On the opening day of your unisex bathrooms, a convicted pedophile went into the ladies’ restroom and took photographs of a ten year old girl.  In the days to follow, similar incidents occurred… while some folks just went into ‘the other’ bathroom simply because they could.

What a debacle.  What a joke.  What a complete fulfillment of Bible prophecy — because while the world thinks we’re establishing and demonstrating an ‘open-arms’ policy to everyone under the rainbow, the reality is, the landscape of this world is changing just as God said it would.  And how could it not?  With a departure from God, demonic thinking takes over.

Our mentality, inner gauge for right and wrong, and what we will and will not accept, has changed.  And no, it’s not for the better.  Where in the world are things getting better??  No, things are getting worse without God, just as the Lord warned.  Interesting that weeks before instating your new policy, Target, several Christians were beheaded on a beach.  Interesting that just weeks after instating your new policy, Target, terrorist attacks continue to be carried out around the world — but none of it is related, none of it means anything, none of it is a sign of the times??

To the contrary, according to Isaiah 5:20 and 2 Peter 3:3, and Revelation 18:10-17, what is happening is this: the world is descending into a complete lack of morality… as the spirit of Babylon once again takes over.

Target, you’ve publicly said that your plummeting sales and stock prices are due to global warming (insert LAUGH OUT LOUD) but everyone knows the truth.  So now I’d like to add one more dash of truth: what happens next won’t be good for you, but it will be so very good for those of us who have waited on the Lord, believed in the Lord, and remained faithful and steadfast in His reality and promise.  What happens next is, Jesus returns and shuts it all down (Revelation 1:7).  Praise God!  Oh, what a day that will be!

So Target, while I’m saddened that an era has come to a close, as I’m no longer buying my dresses, toys, makeup, and other items from you — know this: much more than I’m sad, I’m disappointed.  A lot of us are.  Target, you sold out.

Two Powerful Ways To Breakthrough

Last night, as my husband and I sat down to a simple meal (it’s hot here in Atlanta, no heavy food for us!), Jon took my hand to pray. A moment later, Jon began to say a meal-time prayer in tongues.

Speaking in tongues often triggers those around us.  The Spirit is contagious–as those apostles quickly learned as they gathered in the Upper Room on that first Pentecost all those years ago! (Acts chapter 2)

Similar yet different from a personal prayer language, praying in tongues is a beautiful albeit mysterious way of communicating with God — especially when you have no words, or when you simply want to let your heart do the talking.

Has that ever happened to you? Have you ever needed to pray but found that you have no words? Perhaps the stress of your current situation is just too high; perhaps the pain in your heart is just too great… Either way, you simply have no words, don’t know what to say, but you know that you know, that you know, you need God, desperately.  Yes, that is when your personal prayer language (which is similar in sound and structure to speaking in tongues) can powerfully speak for you.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Once, I needed to find a family member.  This individual was not answering calls or texts; the entire family was worried.  Boldly and without hesitation, I began praying in the Spirit, using my prayer language, asking the Lord to give me guidance.

What happened next, cannot be explained. It was supernatural.  I got into my car and began driving.  I began to take turn, after turn, after turn. I had no idea where I was going.

Twenty minutes later, I found myself on a road whose name rang a distant bell.   What turn was I to take next?  Where was I to go, then? I had no idea, but I knew God did.  I continued to pray.

It was a miracle that God had led me to the road. I had faith God would continue to lead me. AND HE DID. After a series of turns, I found myself in a stunning, upscale neighborhood. Several turns later, I was led to a home that, according to what I heard in my spirit, was relevant.  I rang the doorbell and inquired after my family member.  To my pleasant surprise, the person who opened the door had helpful knowledge!  Praise God!  That was indeed a miracle, facilitated and powered by the Holy Spirit.

If you do not have a prayer language, I encourage you to pray to God and ask for Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is unlike anything I can describe, it is a blessing there are simply no words for.

Breakthrough Seed

If you have a few more moments, I’d like to very briefly share one more personal account. This is actually very personal, but the power is so raw and indisputable, that I believe everyone within reach of these words, needs to hear.

Some time ago, my husband and I decided to begin tithing significantly, in order to see a significant move of God in our finances.  We knew it was time to tap into the Scriptural principal of sowing into the Kingdom of God… in order to receive.

( On tithing, PLEASE READ, IN THIS ORDER:  Genesis 14:20, Genesis 28:20-22, Leviticus 27:30-32, Numbers 18:20-32, Deuteronomy 12:5-11, Deuteronomy 14:22-29, 2 Chronicles 31:5-12, Nehemiah 10:37-38, Amos 4:4, Malachi 3:8-10, Luke 11:42, Hebrews 7:5-9 )

Right away, we saw supernatural movement both in our finances and growth in our lives.

When we support God’s work, God supports us. It is that simple… and that powerful. The antiChrist agenda is real. So must the Kingdom Agenda be real. The antiChrist is pushing hard against Christians in these last days. Christians must be able to push back—with clout! That takes faith, and let’s not be foolish or naive; that also takes finances. It takes money to print books, reach the broken, arrange mission trips, run churches, sustain ministries. So when we support God’s vital work, God in turn supports us. It is Scriptural. It is solid Biblical principal. And it’s real.

If you need a financial breakthrough, is it time to sow into fertile soil, in order to secure YOUR future harvest?

If the Holy Spirit speaks to you and moves you to sow into this ministry, you can be confident in two things: (1) your personal needs will immediately be prayed for; (2) you are sowing into fertile soil — we are committed to furthering the Kingdom of God!

When you submit an offering, please be sure to include your personal needs, or anything you are struggling with so Jon and I can pray for you.

I hope this blog inspired and helped you!  The Holy Ghost has been talking to me about the power of testimony, so I knew it was time to share more of my own story!  Please feel free to send your thoughts, feedback, or prayer requests… you can do so via the email icon at the top of this page.

God bless you!  Thank you for reading!  I love y’all very, very much.  (One year in Atlanta, and “y’all” has worked its’ way into my vocabulary!)

The Season of Your Transformation Is At Hand

GROWTH

Whenever I see someone unwilling to change or grow, I become concerned… because I know that’s how people become stagnant, and sometimes, stuck. Growth is essential. When we are growing, we are going — going somewhere, going higher, going to the next level. When we grow, we go.

The presence of God brings about powerful growth. The more of God you seek, the more positive change you will see in your life! The more you take on the mind and heart of God, the more positive growth you will see in your life. Why is that? Because God is progressive! While we can rely on the Lord to be the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), Jesus constantly asks us to transform ourselves by the renewing of our minds so we can become the best version of ourselves, and more like Him, which is always beneficial. (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23)

In the Bible, the presence of God is very often symbolized by fire. Interestingly, fire is transformational by nature! Fire can change wood into ashes; fire can change raw tomatoes into pasta sauce; fire can change a hunk of metal into a powerful sword; fire can change a misshapen gold nugget into a beautiful piece of jewelry.

The Lord appeared to Moses as fire, burning within a bush (Exodus 3:2). After that meeting, Moses’ life was never the same! In Exodus 13:21, we read how the Lord actually convened with His people in a pillar of fire, by night. In Acts chapter 2, we read the breathtaking account of how the Holy Ghost appeared as tongues of fire above the heads of the apostles as they gathered in that Upper Room on the very first Pentecost. Those apostles’ lives were never the same, either! Today, Christians everywhere experience baptism of the Holy Ghost, after which our faith is elevated to another level, which in turn affects our whole lives.

Fire! Fire is transformational! And yes, God wants us to surrender ourselves to a constant state of transformation, always changing from what we currently are, to a better and truer individual.

I speak transformation over you right now, in the name of Jesus! I declare that your caterpillar stage is over! The Lord is getting ready to give you wings, with which you will fly and soar to the next dimension!

Do not become complacent where you are in this season; I hear the voice of the Lord say: GROW! It is time to SHIFT! Allow the refining fire of the Lord to burn away the old… so God can bring you the new. Selah.

What Is Blocking Your Breakthrough?

13492849_10209583774212470_1072821492_n

I have been so blessed to work with people all over the world, speaking prophetically and coaching some truly amazing people, according to the word of God and His will for their lives and destiny. The people who move the FASTEST, who experience greater JOY, PEACE, and yes, BREAKTHROUGH, are the ones who realize and internalize this truth: WE MUST POSITION OURSELVES FOR GREATNESS.

The word ‘position’ says it all—imagine a hammer, properly positioned to drive in a nail. Imagine a batter, properly positioned to hit that ball out of the park. POSITION. Properly positioning yourself is EVERYTHING.

Some of us get in the habit of praying, and praying…and we may even go to church, tithe, and live according to God’s Word. Those folks may receive mercy, grace, favor and blessing…but some don’t get that BREAKTHROUGH they were hoping for. WHY?

The first 3 things I check for are:

1️⃣ An active praise and worship life. In our time of need, our prayers often become repetitive and some begin to sound more like begging. But the Bible shows us how much the Lord loves to be worshipped and praised (Psalm 95:1-11, James 5:13, to name just two); and of course, as our creator, He deserves it! Does that make Him deaf to our needs or egotistical? FAR FROM IT; God prefers your praise over begging because it demonstrates the condition of your mind and the willingness of your heart; the sheen of your prayer life accurately indicates your capability of handling adversity and trial, which is a direct indicator of your ability to handle responsibility and wealth — because with promotion and wealth come greater adversities and challenges. I realize that was a💡light bulb moment for someone… You must shift from begging to praising. Let’s continue.

2️⃣ Complete obedience and submission to the Lord in ALL things, not just the things you agree with or choose. (Deuteronomy 28:1-68) The Lord will NEVER use or elevate a rebellious spirit–NEVER. God will not work with what I call “piccadilly Christians” — meaning, folks who ‘pick’ what commands they like, ‘pick’ what rules they’re willing to follow, and discard or justify disobeying the rest. I know; that’s a tough one. But read the Scripture cited for yourself; this is God’s way — He requires complete obedience. Why? Because the Lord knows far better than we do, the perils of this world and the devil who currently runs it. God’s commands are designed to keep you safe. Please grasp that. You may achieve a level of success, but I assure you it’ll be talent that will get you there, and while talent is good, you won’t maintain your success without God’s ANOINTING. Never confuse talent with anointing. Every single person satan positions in government, media, the entertainment industry or on a false-religion supported platform, has talent. BUT ONLY GOD’S CHOSEN RECEIVE AN ANOINTING, and God will never anoint or promote rebellious spirit. Make up your mind to give yourself over to the Lord. You will never, ever, be sorry.

3️⃣ Personal Consecration. Are there things in your life that would offend the Lord, pollute you, and thus prevent God from blessing you? Be honest with yourself. No one is judging you, please don’t get it twisted! This is a serious question, from someone who cares — is there something blocking you from being blessed? These scriptures may be helpful: Romans 12:1-2, 1 Peter 2:9, Leviticus 10:9-11, Proverbs 31:4-5. In those texts, we are told how important it is to cleanse ourselves, purge anything that is unclean or unholy. In the eyes of God, such things as fornication, idolatry, drunkenness (and others) contaminate us and make us unfit to carry God’s anointing or receive elevation. Are you consecrated, Christian? Are you asking for something that God would love to give you, but is the presence of sin preventing the Lord from answering your prayer? This is a question only you can answer, and I’m praying for whoever is reading this to receive discernment, conviction and the proper revelation through the Holy Spirit!

God loves you — know that. He wants to bless you — know that, too! (Jeremiah 29:11) When we bring ourselves into alignment with God’s way of doing things, we literally position ourselves for breakthrough. Doing things God’s way positions you for greatness!

I have seen people (I’ve coached) go from literally being down and out, to thriving and from being broken, to attaining goals — simply by positioning themselves for greatness. I pray this blog has blessed you. I’m also praying for your greatness!

As Regards Cultivating Our Health…

Hello my friends, I’d like to share the recipe for one of my favorite smoothies. Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it’s incredibly healthy. I drink this smoothie daily for energy, wellness, and yes, weight loss.

Why am I including this recipe on my website, what does this have to do with God? Well, in 1 Corinthians 3:16, Paul writes: “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” Later, Paul makes it even more clear: “…do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify your body.” In other words, take good care of yourself!
2 Timothy 1:14 backs those scriptures up, beautifully.

The apostle John also wrote about the importance of good health in 3 John 1:2; please read it when you have a chance. If we make an effort to be healthy, we are helping ourselves to be full of energy and ready for whatever God has for us next! Amen? Now, a few words about this smoothie…

Banana Bread Smoothie

It tastes like banana bread, and it contains no sugar. It is gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, wheat-free, and devoid of anything artificial. I’ve included two important ingredients that not only give your body a powerful antioxidant and immunity boost, but help you to lose weight. Praise God for amazing ingredients!

Here’s the recipe:

BANANA BREAD SMOOTHIE

2 cups ice
1 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
2 ripe bananas, broken into pieces
a few dashes of ground cinnamon
1 heaping tablespoon ground almonds (you may purchase ground almond meal, or grind them yourself in a coffee grinder)
1 heaping teaspoon ground flaxseed
1 heaping teaspoon chia seeds (you may grind these for quicker digestion if you like)

Place all ingredients in a blender, then blend until smooth. If you would like your smoothie less thick, you may add a bit more almond milk. Note: you can use unsweetened coconut milk if you like, that’s also delicious.

This smoothie will keep your hunger satisfied for hours! The chia seeds expand, helping to keep you feeling full. If you make this smoothie and enjoy it, let me know. Email me by hitting the icon at the top of this page. Enjoy!

Healing Broth

In October of 2013, I spoke with a man who was suffering with fourth stage cancer.  Although he was a very practical man, he was also a husband and a father; in the face of the debilitating disease attacking his body, this man had become desperate for answers, desperate for healing.   He came to me, hoping I’d have… something.

Early into his session, I was given visions of the man before the cancer struck: he was vibrant, passionate about life, creative!  And I was given a vision of the man after  the cancer had taken hold: he was struggling to remain positive, fear had crept in, he was weak, in pain, and growing frail.

Then, the man’s guardian angel began to talk to me.  The angel told me a healing angel was going to be sent to the man.  The angel also gave me a recipe for a healing broth.

I can recall this session, as though it were yesterday.  I sat calmly and spoke to the man on the telephone, fully aware that he wanted to believe me, but had doubt.  That was understandable, but at that time I had so much confidence in what the angel was telling me, I boldly relayed the recipe just the same!  In the following weeks, that man made the broth several times, and experienced miraculous healing.

He told how just a few sips would alleviate all nausea from his chemotherapy.  He then told how just a week or so of drinking the broth daily, allowed him to get out of his wheelchair and walk!  Eventually, the man refused further chemotherapy, turned to natural healing methods, continued drinking the broth daily, and today is completely healed.  Did the second healing angel ever arrive?  Yes he did, the man emailed me the entire experience, which was truly awe-inspiring!

I’d like to share the recipe for this Healing Broth with you.  It is important that you do not change the recipe, at all.   I have researched the ingredients and found this amazing information… Each ingredient is powerful in itself, but all the ingredients work together to form a chemical reaction, thus releasing powerful healing into the body.

This broth is not effective for cancer, only.  My research revealed that the broth facilitates deep cleansing, detox, strengthening of organ and immune function.  Therefore, this broth is powerful and beneficial for anyone who wishes to improve their health.  This Healing Broth is also ideal to drink while fasting or during periods of self consecration.

Follow the instructions, precisely.  Do not detract, add, or substitute any of the ingredients.  Please use all organic materials, if you can, as cutting out chemicals makes good sense, does it not?  Without any further adieu, here is the recipe, my friends.  May it bless, heal, restore and strengthen you!

healing broth 2

PRODUCE LIST:  Celery, beets, onion, carrots, kale, garlic, turnips, parsnips or sweet potatoes, fresh parsley.

  1.  Cut equal amounts of all vegetables (washed) and put them in a one-gallon pot.  Use 3-4 cloves garlic.  Cover with a gallon of fresh, purified water.
  2. Do not use any seasonings, whatsoever.  NO SALT,  NO PEPPER, NO ADDITIONAL HERBS.  Keep this broth pure!
  3. Cook over medium-low heat for several hours.  Do not allow your broth to boil.  Simmer gently.  If it starts to boil, back the heat down to low.
  4. Cook until your vegetables are depleted of color.  When this happens, it means all vitamins and nutrients have exited the vegetables and are now in the broth.  Your veggies will look pale and wilted; this is normal.  Cooking time may take 4-6 hours.  Slow is best.
  5. Carefully remove the cooked vegetables, leaving only the broth.  You may need to do this in batches; take your time.  Note:  My husband mentioned what a shame we were discarding all the ‘fiber’.  I pointed out that not only are the vegetables depleted of nutrition, but one purpose of the broth is to eliminate digestion, which is actually hard work for the body.  By consuming just the broth, your body will ABSORB with ease rather than digest, a divine healing elixir.
  6. Store your strained broth in glass containers.  Here, I’ve used 2 half-gallon jars.  I’ve made this Healing Broth several times; it is alway consumed fairly quickly.  However, store your leftovers in a cool, dry place.  Refrigerating the broth doesn’t feel right to me, neither does re-heating; store at room temperature.  DO NOT MICROWAVE, as this is very damaging to the nutrients.

I can personally state, this Healing Broth is delicious.  It is rich and filling.  The flavor is truly indescribable, simply wonderful!  May you be blessed, healed, strengthened and restored, by this broth!  – Jolynne Whittaker

The Miracle of Pentecost

When I think about the time Jesus spent with the disciples after his death and resurrection, I grow a little weak at the knees and my heart quickens.  There he was—after all that—after the grueling crucifixion, after the trio of days and nights they were on their own and terrified for their own lives.  Now, Jesus was back, just like he promised!  He had the wounds to prove he was the resurrected Messiah, and he was back to impart some crucial things the disciples needed to know.  (Read John chapter 20.)

They’d seen a lot during the 3 1/2 years of Jesus’ earthly ministry.  They’d seen signs, miracles, and wonders.  But now, after Jesus’ death and resurrection, everything had changed — things had significantly intensified.  Talk about going up another level!  Jesus gave that first congregation of Christians a powerful assignment, and it’s the same for us: win souls for the Kingdom of God.

In the face of inevitable adversity—false religions, accusations and persecution about our Christianity, demonic interference—Jesus knew we would need help.  Therefore, he promised to send the Holy Spirit.  “…you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” – Acts 1:5

Jesus went on to say: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me… to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:7

Jesus had promised something brand new and powerful; he’d promised to send the Holy Spirit.  And, in verse 5 of the first chapter of Acts, Jesus promised it wouldn’t be long; “not many days from now…”

As always, Jesus was true to his word.  Shortly thereafter, on the Day of Pentecost, all the apostles were gathered together for the celebration of that feast.  This was the famous ‘upper room gathering’.   “Suddenly, there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.” – Acts 2:1-2

Verse 3 says: “then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

That was the beginning of something big!  From there, the apostles were able to do many of the things Jesus did: they preached with a boldness, and they performed signs, wonders and miracles as well — according to the specific gifting of the Holy Spirit.  Those gifts, as found in 1 Corinthians 12: 1-10, are:

  1.  Word of Wisdom
  2. Word of Knowledge
  3. Faith
  4. Healing
  5. Miracles
  6. Prophecy
  7. Discerning Spirits
  8. Speaking in Tongues
  9. Interpretation of Tongues

As we are now under the Blood Covenant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are no longer bound to adhere to the Mosaic Law, but observing God’s Feast Days has little to do with adhering to the Law.  It’s vital to understand that to God, those Feast Days are appointments on His calendar, times He has set aside to convene with us, gift us, pour out to us.

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so we can expect the same blessings His children have always received on God’s Holy Feast Days.

– Hebrews 13:8
