Hello my friends, I’d like to share the recipe for one of my favorite smoothies. Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it’s incredibly healthy. I drink this smoothie daily for energy, wellness, and yes, weight loss.

Why am I including this recipe on my website, what does this have to do with God? Well, in 1 Corinthians 3:16, Paul writes: “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” Later, Paul makes it even more clear: “…do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify your body.” In other words, take good care of yourself!
2 Timothy 1:14 backs those scriptures up, beautifully.

The apostle John also wrote about the importance of good health in 3 John 1:2; please read it when you have a chance. If we make an effort to be healthy, we are helping ourselves to be full of energy and ready for whatever God has for us next! Amen? Now, a few words about this smoothie…

Banana Bread Smoothie

It tastes like banana bread, and it contains no sugar. It is gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, wheat-free, and devoid of anything artificial. I’ve included two important ingredients that not only give your body a powerful antioxidant and immunity boost, but help you to lose weight. Praise God for amazing ingredients!

Here’s the recipe:

BANANA BREAD SMOOTHIE

2 cups ice
1 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
2 ripe bananas, broken into pieces
a few dashes of ground cinnamon
1 heaping tablespoon ground almonds (you may purchase ground almond meal, or grind them yourself in a coffee grinder)
1 heaping teaspoon ground flaxseed
1 heaping teaspoon chia seeds (you may grind these for quicker digestion if you like)

Place all ingredients in a blender, then blend until smooth. If you would like your smoothie less thick, you may add a bit more almond milk. Note: you can use unsweetened coconut milk if you like, that’s also delicious.

This smoothie will keep your hunger satisfied for hours! The chia seeds expand, helping to keep you feeling full. If you make this smoothie and enjoy it, let me know. Email me by hitting the icon at the top of this page. Enjoy!
